Good morning,The City of Olean is launching an aggressive new initiative to boost the local economy by recruiting remote workers. The Olean Common Council voted five-to-one to approve a $50,000 contract with the platform "Make My Move." The 12-month program targets high-earning remote families living at least 100 miles away, offering financial incentives to relocate. Officials estimate attracting just five families could pump over half a million dollars in fresh revenue into the community.Meanwhile, a multi-million-dollar legal battle over local infrastructure is escalating. Olean Aldermen voted unanimously to transfer $200,000 from the sewer fund to cover mounting litigation costs. The city is currently locked in a massive dispute with St. Bonaventure University and the Village of Allegany over unpaid sewage fees, previously estimated to exceed $7 million. And looking ahead to summer, city officials have approved an $85 daily rental fee for the brand-new pavilion at Marcus Park. For more news, download the radioNOVO app. I’m Codi Gaboff, radioNOVO News, a service of Seven Mountains Media.
